The perfume comes last.

Maison Zokar Paris was founded in 2023. But it started much earlier, fifteen years ago, passed from hand to hand.

Fifteen years spent selling perfume, watching bottles change hands, compositions age well or poorly, signatures assert themselves or fade away. By dint of selling, one learns to recognize. And by dint of recognizing, one eventually wants to compose.

Each fragrance from the house starts with a raw material. When an absolute, an essence, or a tincture stands out due to its uniqueness, its rarity, or its power, we trace it back to its source. To the land that nurtured it, to the hands that worked with it, to the techniques passed down for generations.

The fragrance comes last. As a response to the material that called to it, never as a starting point.

Vuelta Abajo is our first composition, signed by Nathalie Feisthauer. A tribute to the red soil of Cuba where, for three centuries, the world's rarest tobacco has ripened.
